Planted at proper spacing, Indian Laurel typically reads as a solid wall within the first year and gains two to three feet annually after that. Podocarpus and privet are more measured. If you need day-one privacy, we plant larger boxes tighter — tell us the height you need and when.

Ficus nitida roots are vigorous, which is why every Unidad ficus planting starts with a site review — distances to pools, walls, foundations, and mains — and includes root barriers where needed as standard practice. In Southern California: almost any month. Fall is ideal — warm soil, cool air, winter rain ahead — but with proper watering our field-grown stock establishes well year-round. The best time to plant a hedge was last year; the second best is this week.
